The first volume of “Index to the Early Printed Books in the Library of the Centre for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia” compiled by Muḥammad Ḥussain Tasbīḥī and revised and completed by ʿAlī Bahramiān and Malīḥeh ʿAlīnezhad, was published by the CGIE (the Center for Research on Iran and Islam) Press.
The Center for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia (CGIE) is an Iranian scientific research institute which was founded by Kāẓim Mūsavī Bojnurdī in March 1984; it is dedicated to research, compilation and publication of reference sources, general and subject encyclopedias in particular, on different aspects of human knowledge.
In this speech, which was delivered during a Summer School - entitled ‘The Notion of Progress: Discourses in Philosophy, Science and History’ - at the Iranian Research Institute of Wisdom and Philosophy in September 2022, Masoumi Hamedani discussed some salient points about the origins of the idea of progress and its transformation into the ideology of progress.
