Personal Library of Āẕartāsh Āẕarnūsh is Donated to the Centre for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia

Personal Library of the late Dr. Āẕartāsh Āẕarnūsh, the distinguished and eminent professor of the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies of the University of Tehran (UT), the first head of the department of the Arabic literature at the UT and member of the supreme scientific council at the CGIE, was donated to Library of the Centre for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia by his family.

CGIE: Personal Library of the late Dr. Āẕartāsh Āẕarnūsh, the distinguished and eminent professor of the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies of the University of Tehran (UT), the first head of the department of the Arabic literature at the UT and member of the supreme scientific council at the CGIE, was donated to Library of the Centre for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia by his family.

This library contains 4648 books and periodicals as well as his handwritten index cards and research notes which are largely about his area of specialty, i.e. Arabic language and literature.

Joining the CGIE shortly after its foundation and becoming a board member, Dr. Āẕartāsh Āẕarnūsh was appointed as the director of the Department of Arabic Literature on December 1^st,1985. Soon after the establishment of the supreme scientific council at the CGIE, he became a primary member and regularly attended its meetings until his demise.

He passed away on October 7^th, 2021 at the age of 84 and was interred in the Notables Site of Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery in Tehran-Iran after his casket was greeted formally at the entrance hall of the CGIE Building.
