The visit of the Minister of Culture of Iraq from the Centre for the Great Islamic Encyclopaedia

CGIE: Hassan Nazem, the Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities of Iraq, together with his deputies and managers, attended the Centre for the Great Islamic Encyclopaedia (Centre for Iranian and Islamic Studies) on the 12th of June, 2022 and met Kazem Musavi Bojnurdi, the head of the CGIE.

This meeting was also attended by Gholamreza Abazari, the cultural attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Iraq. He informed the Iraqi minister about the activities of this research institute, including the process of compiling The Great Islamic Encyclopaedia in three languages (Persian, Arabic, and English), The Encyclopaedia of Iranian Folklore, The Encyclopaedia of Great Tehran, The Comprehensive History of Iran and The Comprehensive Geography of Iran.

Then, while visiting the scientific departments of the Centre, he attended the geography department, talked with Ali Hamedani, the director of this department and the director of The Encyclopaedia of Great Tehran, and learned about the principles of encyclopaedia writing in the CGIE.

The Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities of Iraq then visited the library of the Centre, attended the library of Iraj Afshar, and got acquainted with one of the donated libraries and collections.
