Call for the Sixth International Conference on Iranian Languages and Dialects (Past and Present)

preserving and guarding this land against the ravages of time. It has always prevented the disintegration and destruction of dear Iran’s national and cultural identity.

Iranian languages are a significant part of Iranians’ national and cultural identity. The Persian language has been one of the factors in preserving and guarding this land against the ravages of time. It has always prevented the disintegration and destruction of dear Iran’s national and cultural identity. The prominence of this stout tree is due to the sufferings of great people such as Ferdowsi, Saadi, Hafez, and other Iranian thinkers, who have made the Persian language so enduring by creating valuable works. Similarly, other languages and dialects spoken in this land, such as Turkish and Arabic, have played a significant role in strengthening the foundations of the culture and identity of Iran.

The longevity of Iranian languages, which is a branch of Indo-Iranian and Indo-European languages, dates back to the history of this land. The history of Iranian literature and science has shown that this language has a considerable ability to convey the most complex scientific and philosophical ideas. Maintaining and updating this capability requires the protection and preservation of Iranian languages and dialects. For this purpose, the Centre for Great Islamic Encyclopaedia has held and published the proceedings of the five international conferences on Iranian languages and dialects as follows:

The First International Conference of Iranian Languages and Dialects (Past and Present), May 2012

The Second International Conference of Iranian Languages and Dialects (Past and Present), December 2014

The Third International Conference of Iranian Languages and Dialects (Past and Present), August 2016

The Fourth International Conference of Iranian Languages and Dialects (Past and Present), January 2019

The Fifth International Conference of Iranian Languages and Dialects (Past and Present), February 2021
