Ahmad Mahdavi Damghani Ahmad Mahdavi Damghani (5 September 1926 – 17 June 2022) was an Iranian scholar and university professor.Born in Mashhad, Iran, on 5 September 1926, he held a Ph.D. in Persian Literature and a Ph.D. in Islamic Theology from Tehran University, where he was a professor at the School of Literature and at the School of Theology between 1962 and 1985. Beginning in 1987, he taught Islamic sciences, Islamic literature, advanced Arabic and Persian Sufi texts, and Islamic philosophy at Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania. Mahdavi Damghani also taught at the Autonomous University of Madrid for three years.
Katayun Mazdapour Katayun Mazdapour (born March 22, 1943) is an Iranian linguist and a leading researcher in the realm of Old Iranian Languages. She studied in Anoushiravan Dadgar high school in Tehran and received her bachelors, masters, and PhD from the University of Tehran. She was advised by Mehdi Aboulghasemi and co-advised by Mehrdad Bahar. In 1981, she joined the Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies as an assistant research professor and she retired as a professor in 2012 from the same institution. In 1997, she won the title of Iranian Researcher of the Year, because of her book The Dialect of Zoroastrians of Yazd (In Persian). Her book, Word and its Meaning, from Middle Persian to Modern Persian, won the prestigious award of Iran’s Book of the Year Awards.
Farhad Daftary Farhad Daftary (born 1938 in Brussels) is a Belgian-born Iranian-British Islamic scholar who is co-director and head of the Department of Academic Research and Publications at the Institute of Ismaili Studies in London. Daftary received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1971. He is a freelance consulting editor of the Encyclopædia Iranica, co-editor (with W. Madelung) of the Encyclopædia Islamica, and the general editor of the Ismaili Heritage Series and the Ismaili Texts and Translations Series.
Reza Davari Reza Davari Ardakani (born 6 July 1933, in Ardakan) is an Iranian philosopher and a distinguished emeritus professor of philosophy at the University of Tehran. He is also the current president of the Iranian Academy of Sciences. He is known for his works on criticism of the Western Culture and thought.In 1954, he entered the University of Tehran as an undergraduate, gaining a BA and in 1967 a PhD in philosophy there. From 1979 to 1981, he was dean at the faculty of literature and humanities, University of Tehran, and the head of Iranian National Commission for UNESCO from 1979 to 1982. Davari was the editor-in-chief of Farhang Journal.

Gholamreza Aavani Gholamreza Aavani (born 1943) is an Iranian philosopher and emeritus professor of philosophy at Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran. A former head of the Institute for Research in Philosophy, Aavani is a member of the Academy of Sciences of Iran and a steering committee Member of the International Federation of Philosophical Societies. He has also served as the Kenan Rifai Distinguished Professor of Islamic Studies at Beijing University, China, and is currently a research fellow at Al-Mahdi Institute. Aavani graduated with a BA in philosophy in 1964 from the American University in Beirut. He received a master's degree in philosophy from the University of Tehran in 1968 and acquired his PhD in 1976 from the same university under the supervision of Seyyed Hossein Nasr. Aavani has the greatest influence on expediting the process of development and expansion of Iranian philosophy. He is also a steering committee member of the International Federation of Philosophical Societies and the first president of the International Association of Islamic Philosophy.
Abbas Zaryab Khoyi Abbas Zaryab Khoyi (August 13, 1919 – February 3, 1995) was a historian, translator, literature Professor and Iranologist. He was the author of several books, including a life of Muhammad, and articles in The Persian Encyclopedia (published in Iran), Western peer reviewed Journals as well as Iranica.He obtained his doctorate from Mainz University in Germany from the history department.Among the distinguished rank he held, was the head of the library of congress in Iran and the head of the literature department at Tehran University. At the invitation of the eminent Iranologist, Professor Walter Bruno Henning, he taught Persian language and literature in University of California, Berkeley between 1962 and 1964.
Abdolhossein Zarrinkoub Abdolhossein Zarrinkoub (March 17, 1923 – September 15, 1999) was a scholar and professor of Iranian literature, history of literature, Persian culture and history.He was born in Borujerd, Iran, received his PhD from Tehran University in 1955 under the supervision of Badiozzaman Forouzanfar, and held faculty positions at universities such as Oxford University, Sorbonne and Princeton University.

Manouchehr Sotoudeh Manouchehr Sotoudeh (July 1913 – 8 April 2016) was an Iranian geographer and scholar of Persian literature who was famously known for his studies on Iranian languages and ethnic groups. Sotudeh earned his Ph.D. from the University of Tehran after studying Persian language and literature.He wrote 60 books and nearly 300 articles. He was the first Iranian who published the first dialectal dictionary. He was also a professor at the University of Tehran.Professor Manouchehr Sotoudeh died at the age of 103 in April 2016.
Daryush Shayegan Daryush Shayegan (24 January 1935 – 22 March 2018) was one of the most consequential thinkers of contemporary Iran and the Near East. Shayegan studied at the Sorbonne University in Paris. He was a Professor of Sanskrit and Indian religions at the Tehran University. Besides Persian, Shayegan wrote in French and English. Having spent his teens at boarding school in Great Britain, Shayegan subsequently lived, during his formative years, in Geneva, where he read at the Université de Genève French literature, philosophy, Sanskrit, and political science. Shayegan received his doctorate (doctorat de troisième cycle) at the Sorbonne under the tutelage of his Doktorvater Henry Corbin.Shayegan has written many pioneering works on the epistemological specificities of eastern and western cultures and the possibility of dialogue between them.

He received his master's degree and doctorate in philosophy from the University of Tehran. Pourjavady held academic positions at various institutions including the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Colgate University, and the Gregorian University in Rome. He was awarded the Alexander von Humboldt Prize for Research Excellence in 2005.

He is one of the editors of the Great Encyclopedia of Islam, published in Tehran, and chairs the department of Theology and Sects of the Center for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia.
Fathollah Mojtaba'i Fathollah Mojtaba'i (born December 10, 1927, Tehran) is an Iranian author and historian. He is a permanent member of Academy of Persian Language and Literature and a member of the faculty of the Center for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia. In 1953, he received a bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from the Faculty of Letters and Humanities of the University of Tehran. In 1960, he was sent abroad by the Ministry of Culture to get acquainted with new methods of writing textbooks. After a period of study and research in this field in the Columbia University in United States, he returned to Iran and was in charge of preparing and compiling literature textbooks for high schools.In 1962, he was appointed as Iranian Cultural Counselor in Pakistan and the management of Iranian cultural houses in the city of Lahore. He also received Masters in Comparative history of Religions from Harvard University. Then he continued his studies in History of Eastern Religions and Philosophy and finally in 1971 received his PhD in this field.

He achieved the degree of Ijtihad in 1970. Also, he continued his modern academic education in Islamic Philosophy and graduated on 1969 from Tehran University. After that he achieved his Master of Science degree in Islamic Jurisprudence on 1980 from Tehran University. In 1996, he went to University of Louvain (UCLouvain) in Belgium and earned his Ph.D. degree.
Mehdi Mohaghegh Mehdi Mohaghegh (born 1930, Mashad, Iran) is an Iranian scholar specializing in Persian literature, Islamic studies and philosophy.He has a Ph.D. in both Ilahiyyat (theology) and Persian language and literature; he joined The Faculty of Literature and Humanities at Tehran University in 1960. He has been teaching at the School of Oriental and African Studies in England (1961-1963), McGill University Institute of Islamic Studies in Canada (1965-1998), and The International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization in Malaysia (1991-1996). He is founder and director of the McGill Institute of Islamic Studies Tehran Branch since 1968, where he has collaborated with Toshihiko Izutsu and Herman Landolt on several important projects.

Mohammad Hassan Ganji Mohammad Hassan Ganji Ph.D(June 11, 1912 – July 19, 2012) was an Iranian meteorologist and academic. He was born in Birjand.He completed his studies in Tehran and continued to study geography in England and the United States. He next began to teach at the University of Tehran and was the first who began to teach modern geography at universities. Ganji established the Iran Meteorological Organization in 1955 and ran the organization for several years.He has written over 130 articles in Persian and English and has trained many scholars and masters of geography over the years. He is considered to be the father of modern geography in Iran. one of the work he had shared his knowledge was atlas and book Documents on the Persian Gulf's name.

He is best known for his research and writings about illuminationism and Shahab al-Din Suhrawardi. The three-time winner of Book of the Year award in Iran, Dinani is a professor emeritus at the University of Tehran.
Azartash Azarnoosh Azartash Azarnoosh (18 February 1938– 7 October 2021) was a linguist and scholar of Iran. Born in Qom, he held two Ph.D. degrees from France. He specialized in Arabic literature. Azarnoosh was part of University of Tehran faculty, and was the director of the Arabic department of The Center for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia in Tehran since 1986, and published over 200 articles in the field of Arabic literature, as well as a few dozen books.
