The 26th volume of the Great Islamic Encyclopedia, featuring entries on notable figures and topics from Iran and Islam, has been published under the chief editorship of Kāẓim Mūsavī Bojnurdī by the Center for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia (Center for Iranian and Islamic Studies).
CGIE: Founded in March 1984, the Center is a scientific and research institution dedicated to compiling and publishing general and specialized encyclopedias and reference works, especially in the fields of Islamic and Iranian culture and civilization. Using scientific methods and the most reliable sources and up-to-date information, the Center aims to create an encyclopedia that meets the scholarly needs of Islamic societies as much as possible. While specialized in the culture of the Islamic world, the encyclopedia covers a wide range of topics: Quranic sciences, theology, jurisprudence, hadith, ethics, religions, logic, philosophy, mysticism, literature, art, anthropology, architecture, Islamic monuments, history, geography, mathematics, astronomy, and medicine.
This volume contains 167 entries, beginning with “Rey” and ending with “Zanjani, Sayyid Abolfazl.” The 26th volume, supervised by Kāẓim Mūsavī Bojnurdī, is 792 pages, large format, published in 1,000 copies, and priced at 12,500,000 Rials.
