Conceivably the most significant feature of the late Mr. Mohammad-Ali Eslami Nodooshan is Iran’s concept and name. He believes Iran is not just a homeland enclosed in these political borders but has a broader vision. Iran is a part of human culture and civilization and a significant part of the tremendous human culture, which comes from the genuine bonds of the human soul and heart. When he wrote “Let’s not forget Iran” he emphasized the cultural and human aspects. For him, Ferdowsi, Hafez, Saadi, and Rumi (Mowlana) and their works were more than symbols of the Persian language and geographical Iran. They were symbols of beauty, thinking, and tolerance, and for this reason. In his opinion, Iran will live and stand as long as love and attachment to culture and civilization are alive. He emphasized on Iran at a time that this behavior among the intellectuals and militant fighters, unfortunately, not only did not have many adherents but also did not escape from their criticism, accusation, and revenge. They ignored the long history and Iranian thought and its influence. Some of them were anti-Iran and insulted Ferdowsi and Shahnameh, and in any case, the focus of their thought was not Iran. They promoted and referred to the works of foreigners instead of paying attention to the thinkers of this land. Nevertheless, the passage of time showed the depth of his thoughts on Iran. Discovering his thoughts through various researches, we can understand how he remained fascinated by Iranian wisdom and literature. He considered Iran a phoenix that never dies and will be born again from the heart of fire. On one of our cultural tours in Tehran, we went to the house of Mr. Eslami Nodooshan to ask more questions about his life and thoughts. There, among the old objects, family memorabilia, and university gifts we found something like a thick clay-thatch plate, which did not fit with the rest of the objects.

Nodooshan is from a generation that has experienced the bitterness of those hard times and witnessed the phoenix rising from the fire. Perhaps nothing is as expressive as keeping this piece of bread in introducing the character of the Nodooshan family. If their works are to be preserved somewhere, this is the most significant sign of his character and represents his love for Iran. Fortunately, during the previous period of city management, a place on Vesal street was named after him, and Mrs. Sara Taqavi made a pleasant bust of him.

Mr. Nodooshan not only dedicated his collection of books to the Ferdowsi Tomb Library but also asked others to do the same. I think the place of this piece of bread, which depicts a part of Iran’s history well, should be in the museum next to Ferdowsi’s tomb, which becomes more valuable as time passes.
