The 22nd volume of The Great Islamic Encyclopaedia has been published.

The 22nd volume of The Great Islamic Encyclopaedia features entries about Iran and Islam written by prominent scholars. This volume which is chief edited by Seyyed Kazem Musavi Bojnoudi has been published by The Centre for The Great Islamic Encyclopaedia.

The 22nd volume of The Great Islamic Encyclopaedia features entries about Iran and Islam written by prominent scholars. This volume which is chief edited by Seyyed Kazem Musavi Bojnoudi has been published by The Centre for The Great Islamic Encyclopaedia.

The Centre for The Great Islamic Encyclopaedia has compiled and published an encyclopaedia based on scientific methodology and the most reliable and most up to date and recent  information. This encyclopaedia aims at meeting the scientific needs of  the Muslim communities. Although it covers mostly Islamic issues and is specific regarding that it is exclusively for the culture of the Islamic world, it also covers a wide range of topics. Quranic Studies, Doctrines, Theology (Kalam), Jurisprudence, Principles of Jurisprudence, Hadith, Elements, Islamic figures, Ethics, Religions, Heresiography, Logic, Philosophy, Mysticism, Literature, art, anthropology, architecture and Islamic monuments, history, geography, mathematics, astronomy and medicine are the subjects which are covered by this encyclopaedia.

The 22nd volume of this encyclopaedia includes 162 entries. It begins with the entry "xānevāde" (family) and ends with "xandaq" (ditch).

One of the most important entries in this volume covers "Ayatolla Rohollah Xomeini". It can be read in this entry that "Ayatollah Seyed Rohollah, son of Haj Aghā Mostafā Musavi Xomeini; Faqih and Marja, politician and the leader for one of the most memorable and effective revolutions in the last decades of the 20th century. He is famous as "Imam" because of his spiritual position for guiding and leading Iranians in the revolution of the 1970s. He carried out political and social campaigns for over 40 years in accordance with religious leadership and with the slogan "independence, freedom, Islamic republic". With the help of Iranians, he overthrew the Pahlavi dynasty. After that, he guided the Islamic Revolution of Iran and stablished the base for Velayat-e Faqih (supreme leadership) and an Islamic state. The distinctive character of Imam Xomeini, not only made him famous across the world, but also the Islamic Revolution was recognized because of him. This entry has been compiled by Faramarz Hajmanuchehri.

The Great Islamic Encyclopaedia is published in three languages: Farsi, Arabic and English. Until now, 22 volumes of this project has been published.

The 22nd volume of The Great Islamic Encyclopaedia has been released. Its editor in chief is Kazem Musavi Bojnurdi. This volume is published in 774 pages, quarto size and 2000 copies and the price is $120.
