The
Department of Science concentrates on doing research and writing
articles on history of pure sciences including medicine, veterinary,
pharmacy, mathematics, astronomy, meteorology, physics, mechanics,
chemistry, and historical developments of them as well as important
terms and prominent scholars of pure sciences. The biographies of
both Islamic scholars that have researches and articles and other
scholars that their works are cited, used and discussed among Moslems
are included such as Jaberebne Haian, Kharazmi, Aboali Sina, Khayam,
Aborihan Bironi, Nasiredin Toosi, Archimedes, Euclides, and so on.
The
key terms and titles of pure sciences such as Alavi works, alchemy,
astrolabe, conics, views and perspectives, are among the selected
entries. Although, many researches have been done on these subjects
both in the western counties during the 100-200 years ago and in
the Islamic countries within recent decades, more researches and
studies are required to cover all aspects of the great achievements
of Islamic world in the middle centuries.
Most
of the information resources in the department of Science are manuscripts
and core and creditable scientific written works.
