Geography

The geographic articles that written for The Great Islamic Encyclopedia cover the following subject areas: Islamic geographers, important geographic documents and works, description of geographic titles of Islamic nations with special concern about key geographic and historical areas, description of geographic and historical titles of Iran such as provinces, townships and divisions which had a important historical background. In articles special concern is paid for historical geography of Islamic nations and countries, which had direct historical bilateral relations with Islamic countries or influenced by Islam. So, citing geographic and historical information resources is very vital. Valuable works of prominent and well-known authors and researchers as well as Moslem and non-Moslem tourists are key information sources for writing the articles. Furthermore, historical works, specially historical works of Islamic times, introducing famous scholars and prominent individuals involved in religious and literature issues are important subject areas in articles.
The Geography department invites the researchers in The Center for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia and other scientific and research institutes for editing articles and consulting authors.
