The
Computer Section is responsible for information automation, promoting
computerized services, supporting hardware, software and network
of The Center for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia, and computer education
management of staffs in order to use the computerized facilities
more efficiently.
This
section is divided into four divisions:
- Hardware Management
- Software Management
- Network Management
- Computer Education Management
The
main task of the Hardware Management Division is to promote the
quality and quantity level of hardware and to support hardware facilities.
The Software Management Division is involved in automation of information,
designing and development of new databases, information management
of The Center for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia web site, and supporting
software for various activities.
The Network Management Division develops local and wide area
networks (LAN and WAN) and promoting information services to users
through network facilities such as World Wide Web, File Transfer
Protocol (FTP), E-mail, Teleconference and etc. It is also responsible
for supporting and maintaining the network and computer training
of users in the center.
