The Department of Arabic Literature is responsible for doing research and writing articles on various fields of Arabic language and literature. The number of activities and colleagues of this department varies from the number of entries about Arabic literature, which are approved for each volume of the Great Encyclopedia of Islam. This department is also involved in reviewing and approving of entries, providing information resources and scientific files as well as completing them for dependant researchers of The Center for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia (CGIE). The Arabic Literature department has a joint cooperation with other scientific department for writing the special articles. Scientific editing of articles about Arabic literature is another tasks of this department.
