This department is responsible for doing research and writing articles on historical, social, economic, and artistic life of ethnical, tribal, rural, and urban populations. In other words, it focuses on common culture of Iranian people as well as Islamic societies. The Anthropology Section has a close cooperation with other scientific sections, specially history, geography, religions, literature, art, and architecture sections for doing research activities and writing articles. Some of the main tasks of this section are: identifying, extracting and selecting related entries to anthropology and common culture; reviewing proposed entries; devising a structural scheme and pattern for each series of entries; consulting researchers of scientific files; selecting appropriate researchers for writing the articles and exchanging views about topics; and finally editing and writing related articles.
